Q: Everyone has a favorite place? Im looking to get a cable and a not too expensive crimping tool with an integral or separate sheet for stripping the cable jacket.
Re:Yah look in Hotdeals there is a thread about this.
Re:compgeeks has a package similar to the one above. its pretty decent (the crimper isn't great).
Re:Might Try DALCO (http://www.dalco.com).
They have pretty good prices on bulk wire.
1000' CAT5E CABLE BLUE WITH CONNECTORS, CRIMPER, & TESTER
Dalco Part #: 70255
SAME DAY SHIPPING
Special Price: $39.99
I think these guys got a lot of Chinese stuff.
I have one of their $5.99 Optical Wheel Mouse and it works pretty good. It is not top quality but it works. They also sell cheap speakers.
Might also try Home Net Help sponsored Store. (http://www.personalhomenetworks.com/)
Re:RE:"I don't get why you should have to spend $150 for a simple crimper. I think around $50 should be more than fair for one. Why would it not?"
Well, most cheapo crimpers are in the $20 range. $50 can get you a decent one if you look hard.
The $150 ones must be like those $1000 toilet seats the government pays for with your tax money.

MicroCenter for the Crimper, Home Depot for the cable.
