Q: I have a brand new Plextor PX-708A. So far I have burned two DVD + R data, neither of which is readable in my DVD player or DVD drive of my roommate. I also tried them in a standalone Panasonic DVD player that plays MP3s (a DVD full of MP3s) can not read the disc. The Plextor reads them fine.
Both LiteOn drives are 163s, so I suppose it is possible that a problem with the discs. I have no other standalone drives try.
Anything else I could do wrong?
Media is TDK 4x DVD + R with Nero 5.5.10.42 Burning. Nero recognizes the drive correctly u0026 burns fine 8X.

I suspect it is just compatibility with the drive.

That's odd, I have two Panasonic DVD players, an A120 and an RP 91 and both play movies that I've backed up on +R media just fine. What's funny is that eventhough Panasonic is part of the -R camp, the older A120 refuses to play -R discs if they are burned to sub-par media (ahem, Princo), the RP 91 will play anything you throw into it. FWIW, I use Memorex 4x +R media manufactured by Ricoh not that cheap CMC stuff.

Re:The Lite-On drives read DVD+R. Try burn in slower speed and see if that helps.
