Problems with PowerDVD and WinDVD [dvd drive] [windvd]

Q: I try to watch DVDs on my computer. The problem is, after about 5 minutes. of looking, the picture freezes up easily. No errors or anything. This happens in and PowerDVD which leads me to think that a problem with my . Ive noticed that the stops running and thats when the freezes, and Im wondering if it just stops caching or what.

Windows Media Player CANNOT play DVDs without a plug-in that you have to buy. The default Windows Media Player that comes with Windows XP can't play DVDs.

When the picture freezes on the DVD player, the LED light for the is off. It's like it just stops reading from the DVD for some reason.
