Q: It came with my Dell computer I got last Christmas. The CD burner worked fine until recently. I can not burn a CD that is actually on my car radio to play without skipping every second. Ive tried three different types of software and the disks still skippy completely. I also tried lowering the speed and the different disks. What can be wrong?
Best Answer: Solution 1
Buy a can of compressed air for computers. CD drive tray open, computer off, computer unplugged, blow out the inside of the optical drive.
The optical eye may be dirty. (If you've never cleaned it, I guarantee it is!)
Solution 2
Buy a cheap, decent DVD burner drive, if you computer will support it.
It plays CD's and burns them. It also plays DVDs and burns them.
CD/DVD drives have a Life Cycle, just like any computer part. Yours may be at the end of it's.
I bought a Lite-On unit at Walmart. (Not trying to advertise for Wally World!)
It will use Dual Layer disks, is a DVD combo drive, (like mentioned above), will read and write to all formats of disks, burns fast, and has LightScribe Technology.
$45 at Wally World.
Installed one in a friends computer two and a half years ago. Still works like day 1.
Installed one in mine over a year and a half ago. Still works great like day 1. I took out two expensive units, and replaced it with this one. Was a good move!
Reviews on the 'net state that it's comparable to units that cost 3 to 5 times as much.
Here is an example of it,

I use the free Infra Recorder software, instead of Nero. Much, much better DVD burner software, (CD too!)

Re:My guess is its your deck in your car.
Re:What kind of car? Chances are it's either your car's headset can't read the format correctly or it's shoddy media.
