Q: Suppose you have both a wired and wireless connection, is there anyway to set up a program (IE, AS400, Outlook, etc.) to use but one – I think LAN has priority by default.
Re:What I would like to do is use my wired connection for my AS400 connection and use my wireless connection for IE and Opera.
Re:Please describe EXACTLY what you are trying to do. Then we may be able to help.

Assuming you have both a wired and wireless connection active, is there anyway to set a program(IE, AS400, Outlook, etc.) to use just one – I believe LAN has priority as default setting.
The priority is determined (by default) by the speed indicated by the network connection. So, your LAN has priority over wirless since it's probably reporting a 100mb link speed vs the 11mb or 54mb your wireless is.
You could setup non-persistant routes to do this say in a batch file and run that when you login at work. However, routes will be based on the destination, not the application requesting the data.

Re:Wireless is not WAN.
WAN = Wide Area Network, where as LAN = Local Area Network.
Both of your connections would be a LAN connection.
Re:hum would love to know more about this if anyone has any insight… I have the same setup actually and wish to be able to assign different connections to different apps
Re:Workplace connections – have to use LAN for certain programs and I would like to use WAN for other programs.
Re:Why would you have both active? And I think it would depend on the program.
