Q: I read that you guess the nvidia display drivers before updating to remove driver.
I own a Leadtek WinFast PX6600 GT TDH. If I go to remove programs I see a nvidia driver and display driver WinFast. This may be because I installed the driver gave me the CD and WinFast updated. I never unistalled WinFast driver, so maybe thats why there are two drivers. But I m sure if thats the reason.
Do you that I have both the nvidia driver and display driver WinFast before I remove the new driver to install?

Re:It's not so much a performance improvement in terms of more FPS as it is an improvement in stability. Granted, when just upgrading a driver, it is not as important as it is when upgrading to a different manufacture's card (ATI to nVidia or vise versa).
If you're not hard core about upgrading drivers, say your just moving from one official driver to the next, you can just do a simple uninstall/install. People do it everyday day and their computers run fine. Many people don't even uninstall before they load the new drivers and it still works. All that said, the cleanest way I know of doing things, short of a total reformat and install, is to do things as I listed above.

Re:Video Driver Uninstall/Install
1. Uninstall current vid driver
2. Reboot
3. As the reboot comes up, after the quick mem test and drives have been recognized, hit F8 and enter "SAFE MODE"
4. When safe mode comes up, do not let Windows install a vid driver. Hit cancel.
5. Run Drive Cleaner with the filter for the driver (ATI, nVidia, ect.) you just uninstalled . Quit and repeat #2-#4
6. Install new vid driver.
7. Reboot
8. Enjoy
This method has worked well for me.

I did uninstall booth but didn't know about the cleaner. Where can I get that? And in that case should I uninstall this new driver and then use the cleaner and reinstall the new driver again?

and by the way, the winfast drivers suck badly…get the 76.10 beta drivers

Winfast drivers on 3dmark 03 got 4700 got 2800 on 3dmark05
nvidia 76.10 drivers got 7700 on 03 and 3200 on 05
