Re:It can be easier than a destop. Remove the plate on the bottom and the SODIMM slot is right there. No need to move wires around or worry about the video card being in the way.

Re:Most laptops have a removable plate on the bottom that reveals the SODIMM RAM modules. Most have slots for 2. Check your user's guide for the specs – it is also shown in nearly all user guides complete with pics.

Re:Give us more details like laptop model and make. Most laptop ram is installed like EDO ram. Theres a lever to release it and it kind of lays into the slot and snaps in.
