Q: I bought a new case, power supply, DVD burner, Radeon 850xt.
Installed everything and the computer wouldnt boot, wont even post or beep. After a dozen attempts I unhooked everything except the motherboard, CPU, RAM, video card, power supply and have still not boot, beep or post. But all drives spin up, the fans, everything starts to jack i just dont get the beep on startup and the computer just post. Geforce 4 ti4200
Finally my and the computer. Am I missing the power of my diet? yes the card is plugged into the molex connector and I tried a dozen different molexes, even on their own part, with nothing else connected. I tried a 420 watt power supply of my previous computer that has always worked and get the results saem. The new diet that I have is 430 watts Thermaltake.

Re:Just for the record It was my mobo i found a few other people that couldnt get this card and other 8x agp cards to run on my motherboard, I installed it in my old p4 mobo and ran it a few hours, ended up ordering a new mobo, athlon x2 4200+, and 2 gigs corsair.
I sold this card tonight and am in the market for a PCI-E vid card.
No more ECS for me ever, I always end up havin problems later down the road. All to save 30$ up fron, and eventually have to replace it anyways.

to ask a stupid question, you are connecting the video card directly to the psu right? (although, if you weren't, i think that would cause a long continuous beep)
is the video card brand new? or did you buy it off of ebay?
Re:well the 650 watt power supply didnt help. same results. maybe its my k7vta3 cant run the radeon x850? due to my mobo only being 4x agp?

Re:Hmm…could be the PSU I have that same exact vid card and thought it was a little clunky with my 500 watter..so I upgraded to OCZ 700 watt Gamer PSU and now it working great. Nice hearing from ya again and good luck with that setup.

Re:I remembered I bulit new motherboard that have AGP 4x and the new card is 8x it did not boot at all so I put 4x card it works just fine.
Re:That can happen with not enough power. I had it happen last month on a client's machine. She had a Radeon 7200. It worked perfectly, albeit a little slow. So, I put in a Radeon 8500. Windows would stall on loading. Put the 7200 back in – and it loaded sin problema.
She needs a bigger PSU, but it is not worth it for her old K7M mobo. Time for a new machine in her case.
