Q: hi!
Is there to read the advantages of WinXP or Win2K with radeon9700 will run just fine?
I currently use win2k and the prefect for my needs. I see no reason to upgrade to winXP.
At least not at this time. I tried it once, but returned to win2k.
Is a fixed speed or stability problems with WinXP and radeon9700 compared with win2k?

Best Answer: Make sure the folders you want to accessed are shared by right clicking the folder you want to share on the xp pc, and then go to network places on your 2k pc and your folder should appear. Assuming that your workgroup is the same on both computers (it's default is actually called workgroup), and you are able to ping the other computer from the dos command, you should be alright.

Re:There are very few pressing reasons to upgrade from 2K to XP. I use XP because I like the look and there are a number of XP only features I use. As far as gaming goes, I've never really noticed the difference between the two.

i got r8500dv.. and w/ xp and catalist 2.02 driver.. i get about 60-70fps in cs at 1124×9xx
i installed win2k yesterday and i installed the driver that came w/ cd and it's running at 10fps.. lol
yeah this doesn't help ya.. but .. oh well
