recommend me a good single player game [serious sam 2] [cnc generals]

Q: im bored, my internet is really possible for online game play, despite a 2mb line (ADSL sucks)
ive played/have.

D3
Q4
HL2
FEAR
CMR5

NSF: MW
Riddick
/ Zero hour
UT2004
BF2

some of them are better online, but the sense in this context, games like FEAR, Q4, HL2 was good, but i dont feel the need for a replay

NSFMW is good if I was just a blast playing around in my Carrera GT

currently CMR5 and SSII want, but they are abit boring.

Best Answer: There are probably lots of answers to this question. But in order for people to help you they'd have to know what kind of interface your video card is currently using on your motherboard. It's a lot more difficult right now to update an "AGP" graphics card than a "PCI Express" card or "PCI Express 2.0." Only ATI modeled cards are made for the AGP interface anymore and they're not necessarily optimized for the older systems they might be installed in.

A good place to start is to find out what motherboard you have. As long as you know what interface you're using for graphics adapters you can go to a site like www.newegg.com and do a guided search of the hardware you might need. If you use the site, don't forget to look at user reviews of different products – different models and manufacturers very greatly in terms of reliability and ease of use. You'll definitely beat store prices by a large margin.

One example is a GeForce 9400 GT 512MB from MSI through newegg.com for 50 bucks with a 10 dollar mail in rebate (assuming you're a generation behind with PCI express – NOT 2.0). So for the same price as an 8-series card you get a 9-series with more dedicated memory.

Hope that helps!! Happy gaming!

Re:Two I can definately recommend giving the games you've listed: Far Cry and Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

Also, you didn't mention any Call of Duty, so I'd recommend COD 1 & 2, as well as Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. RTS type games I'd recommend Warhammer 40,000 and Homeworld 2.

You should be able to pick it up either on the cheap, being that they aren't that new.

Re:You gotta play Call of Duty 2, best single player game out right now.

Re:What type of game? Looks like most of the games you mentioned are FPS games and I, personally, don't think that genre lends itself all too well to single player (when compared to RPGs/RTSs at least). But if you're an FPSer that's fine too, I'd recommend the FPS/RPG hybrids, they always got me hooked for single player: Deus Ex 1 + 2, System Shock 1 + 2, damn there are more of these but I just can't think of 'em at the moment. I noticed you don't have HL or any of its expansions up there (even tho it may be understood since you have HL2?). Other games I'd highly recommend if you like single player are story based RPGs (not the hack 'n slash a la Diablo games) like Baldur's Gate 1 + 2 and its expansions as well as Planescape Torment .. both games are getting pretty dated by now – almost a decade. Oldies but goodies! Black and White 1 + 2 are great single player time wasters too. Can also try the Vampire the Masquerade Games – Redemption and Bloodlines, both are a bit different and sorta FPS/RPG hybrids but they're pretty neat.
