Q: Here is a test page I setup:
Test site (http://www.cr01.net/Test/)
Here is a picture of how it looks in IE and Opera (http://img201.imageshack.us/ img201/7229/exampleqv3.jpg)
The toolbar at the top that Home, Products, Help, and lists the input field for Post u0026 Order is what I would get working in Opera / Firefox as it only works in Internet Explorer .
The main function of this toolbar is just about always on the top of the current page, so at any time the user clicks on a link to the exact page view or an item number, serial number, etc and be page.
Normally that the toolbar has many more options so that it spans the entire browser window, but I removed some of them for this.
The only requirements I have the toolbar fully functional in Opera and Firefox do with the instructions on how to do this, I can update the files server.
Alternatively the right, as another way for the same functionality in another way, that is cross-browser compatible, I would be interested in that.
The main index file. cfm which contains the actual buttons . I do not think this is the toolbar and disabled problem
The data is loaded from files in the / test / Toolbars directory with the following files (which I believe contains the problem):
menubody.htm
tbmenus. js
toolbar.js
toolbars.css

Re:It looks like those may work, but i'm not sure how to make them work like the current toolbar is working
for example..I need to have some input boxes on the toolbar to put in a number, hit enter and have it load the page below the toolbar (while still having the toolbar available) without putting the toolbar on every page.

Re:Will the menu code here (http://tylerkaraszewski.com/experimentation/better-javascript-menus/) work for you? It was developed by notfred here on the forums.
EDIT: Alternatively, use Yahoo's menu library (http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/menu/).

Re:thanks – I think i've narrowed the problem down to toolbar.js since I can comment out the other two files loading (menubody.htm and tbmenus.js) and the page still loads regularly.
unfortunately I don't understand how it's working and don't know what to change

Re:I only had a few minute to look through this, but I think you've got way too many position:absolute 's and not enough display:inline 's.
