Safe operating voltage and temperature for Barton? [operation temp] [40c]

Q: My overclock resulted in a 2.65 GHz with 166 x 16 and 1.85 V, however, Windows restarts after 5 minutes of operation. Temp at . So is it safe to bump the voltage? If so, what voltage do you recommend?

Re:According to cpu z, it varies between 1.95 to 1.936 but that does not matter much.

BTW, I tried the 1.85 V setting again and Windows is not having a problem now.

Posting voltage is at 1.7, windows does not boot at all

Re:is that voltage supposed to change on it's own or something there?

I have changed it to 1.9 V and there is no problems so far. When rebooted, i read 47C.

Cpu Z shows voltage at 1.936

1.936 with load or idle?

what board are you using? and coolign?

1.936 at ~23% cpu load
Board is epox 8k5a3+ KT333 chipset and heatsink is thermalright sk7 with adjustable fan. I used ceramique.

Re:55 celcius on a stock fan is hte highest u should go at. otherwise, its hot, but pretty safe.

Re:yeah.. nice o/c first of all….

most people stop at or around 1.85 volts….

depending on your baord, the vcore voltage may undervolt so check to see if it's over or undervolting…

also…

don't trust temps that the hardware monitor or whatever program spits at you…

abit is known to report high
asus is known to report low…

also… try to see if you can run something like… 13 x 200 rather than 16 x 166 :) (unless you're stuck with pc2700 ram then ignore me)
