Securing a laptop for use on a public wireless network [laptop] [wireless network]

Q: Wondering if there is a good way to get my safe for use on a public without using 3rd party firewall software.

Meh… Remote Desktop won't really accomplish what I want to do. I want to be able to work on my while using internet resources. Remote Desktop would be more for doing work on my home desktop while I'm at school, which isn't what I want to do. Plus I'll still be connected to the at the school. I'm not as concerned about how secure the is in terms of keeping internet traffic out of the network… moreso about other computers on the .

Re:Unbind the File Sharing from the TCP/IP Stack.

Do Not use the connection for online banking, and similar private activities.
