Q: Here are my current specs prior to me trying to upgrade, before I anything.
Athlon 1964 3400 977 503 Asus K8N-E Deluxe
512 Horny PC3200
XFX GF 6800
Soundblaster Audigy Gamer
2 WD 80 gig Special Edition hds
I just built something more than setting up a 2 weeks ago, and this week I ordered more parts to upgrade with. I ordered half stick of RAM, a real new Antec 430 Watt PSU, and a pioneer 16x DVD-RW . After I have all new components in my system, everything starts up fine . but I went to load cpu-z and I all the weird blocks on the screen anywhere and programs scattered wouldnt charge me, then I rebooted and Windows itself wouldnt load, so I removed the new stick of ram to find out that was the problem and everything turned out okay . So I went to play UT2004 and I have the same problem, ut froze, I have a lot of blocks on screen, and crashed . So after this I thought it could be the new psu, so I go back to the old raidmax 420 W power supply used in the case on, and initially everything seemed fine, so I shut down and restarted a few times, and the third Then I get the funny lines and blocks across the screen . now im stumped . I have the ram it worked fine before I tried to upgrade, like the mobo and video card . What would be the reason? Windows loads fine, but I get visual corruption when I try to load a few programs . I really need help, I have no idea what I should do or what I should try to RMA .
Re:Haha, woops, forgot this little bit that was on the News section of Anandtech just a few days ago, hehe:

See if that solves your problem.
Re:here is something on sp2 i found… http://www.motherboards.org/fo…/viewtopic.php?t=53156 (http://www.motherboards.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=53156)
that might be my problem…
Re:Hmm, cooling seems plenty enough. If you can, try out your video card on another system. If not, then, first back up all of your important files, then uninstall SP2. If it still doesn't work, then insert your XP Pro CD and select Upgrade. All of the windows components will be reinstalled, but, if it loads fine, all of your files will be still there. If there was an error during the Upgrade, then I'd suggest getting new ideas from some of the more experienced posters on this site…
Re:i have a raidmax scorpio case, with 6 80 mm fans… 1 right near the agp slot, 2 on the back of the case, 2 on the front of the case near the hd bays, and 1 on the very top of the case
Re:what case do you have? and the number, types, and location of fans?
Re:my temps were around 40 for cpu and 35 for mobo..

Links? I haven't heard of any issues with SP2 and high-end video cards.
Well, I'm not sure exactly where I read it (either on Anandtech or Cnet), but I remember SP2 messing with some drivers and such. Probably only an isolated incident, but it is a possibility…
guy, Can you give the exact system specs? That would greatly help figuring out the problem.
Re:Before you uninstall SP2 (which I can't believe is causing this), can you check your temperatures?
