Best Answer: Look at this pictures and compare:
IE6: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:IE_6_S…
IE7: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Window…
IE8: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Intern…

If you have any other version, go to wikipedia, and choose one of the oldest versions below, there's a link and you can see your version.

that's my question!!! how do I know I am being hacked??
MS users?? what are they doing? accessing port #80?? >>

How do you know? Depends on what OS you are running. But, in general, if kooky stuff is going on and weird $hit in your logs, and files have been changed, etc. That's a good indication. Usually, if you think that you are being hacked, you could be, but not always. LOL! :D Don`t qoute me on that, though.

As the guy suggested, it's probably those lovely IIS worms still infecting unprotected MS boxen.

Port 80 is the HTTP port, if you did not already know. Used when you access websites through your web browser.

Good luck!

Re:Just download a patch from Microsoft and it should close off your ports. But that's only if you're running WindowsNT or 2k because of IIS. If you're still using Windows98, you have nothing to worry about. If you want to make sure that your computer is virus free, head over to Symantec (http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/tools.list.html) and download those tools to remove the virus. They take about 10-15 mintues to scan, so just download the ones that you need. Hope this helps…

Re:ooh.. so it's those damn viruses trying to pass through my firewall?? i c i c..
thanks

NIMDA, Code Red (all versions), etc are STILL going around the net!
That is why you are getting port 80 alarms. Whether it is doing anything to your machine or not I cant tell without any info. But if your firewall software isnt setting off any alarms and your antivirus is working, and tripwire hasnt told you anything changed, you should be ok.

Re:Port 80 attacks are probably idiot MS users. And the other could be just about anything. How do you know you are being hacked? Well tripwire is a good way to know if you were hacked. Other than that, I cant think of much.
