Q: Setup:
Microsoft Router
Microsoft Wireless G Wireless-G PCI Adapter (in desktop)
IBM T41 w / Intel 2200bg (laptop)
Switched of 64-bit encryption to 256-bit WPA and everything worked fine until I again on both computers. Neither would grab an IP address of the router.
Only restarting the router problem.
Any fixed ideas about how to prevent it?

Hi,
Apologies for teaching you to suck eggs – but since it looks like a possible router problem, have you checked the microsoft site for possible firmware updates that may fix this?
Good luck,
Andy

I can't speak for the op – but MS recently stopped making wifi equipment – so all of their stuff was liquidated at sometimes obscenely low prices.
