Q: I have a copy of STALKER and it requires the installation of Starforce, which I refuse to install all heard horror stories about nuking the systems. Is there a way to install the game without installing StarForce?
Re:i've played several games with starforce and never had a problem.
Re:I guess you could sell the game on eBay and then buy a US copy?
Re:I uninstalled Starforce recently, and my system feels alot snappier.
EDIT: can't play PoP: TT anymore though, but finished it.

What I usually do is go out and buy the game, then download it. For your situation since you got it from a friend I'm not sure what you could do.
How would downloading the game help? Normally it's just an ISO image of the CD\DVD so I'd be in the same pickle.

Use capitalism to your advantage and don't financially reward companies who abuse their customers. Return it and send them a letter.
Consumer choice enablement (http://www.google.com/search?q=%22consumer+choice+enablement%22)* is sometimes used in situations like these, but the courts have yet to confirm its legality.

I got the game from a friend, so I didn't pay for it. (No, I'm not pirating it. Don't even go there.)

Won't work, it makes you install StarForce before the game.
