Q: Okay, so after I open the comp WIN XP SP2, the computer is turned off and then a second later powers and boots back into Windows. Okay, thought to be the PSU because I have her for nearly 10 years. This just started happening two days ago, but before that my computer would just restart randomly. Ive also noticed that my CPU runs at 60 degrees C. consitantly Although I can confidently say that the is not the Power Our causes can produce high temp of the CPU is caused by the restart, and this is probably because the food too? And if the PSU was to blame for either, can anyone recommend a product or voltage, power, Ampage, or some info for my comp? Certainly not

Re:The restarting part at high temps is because of the 60+ temperature most likely. If your power supply is really 10 years old what the heck model is it? It would be too small I would think to handle that load if it really is that old.

Re:No, it definately powers off completely. I can hear the power supply knock off. Plus, you know the sound your computer makes when it powers off, very distinct from a restart. Don't think it is the drivers, I have gone through every video driver possible, updated audio, etc.

Re:Does it power off, completely? I have a similar problem where, when I try to shut down my machine, it acts like I hit the Restart button, instead. I think it's a corrupted file or driver conflict with XP.
