Q: for example, in Office, IU, and just about everything else, the default installation is a new letter sets in where the cursor is. If I type “you idiot” and the cursor after the “u” and you hit it, then palces a “re there and move the rest of the line and you end up with,” youre an idiot ” This is the default type style.
I horrable spaces have a time when I am insanely fast typing. I will hit space bar too early or too late, and a Sentance will look like, “this is one of Ane xpample of my many screw ups. See where the room ended up? Well, sooner or later, after the adoption of this a few times, I begin to think that MS wants to “erase” the “e” and it will overwrite the “e” and a space. when it starts doing this, every actor char I type will overwrite the next. the only way to get a space in what to cut and paste one in. This is annoying as hell.
Is a way to “turn off feature” or Ill just typing more care?
this on just about every MS operating system I have ever used. NT, 2000, XP, 95, 98, ME. In Office, IE, or just anything with a text box.

Turn off "Auto-Correct As You Type". It is usually found under Options or such as that, and will be in a little different place depending on the program you are using and which version of that program.
I love you *smooch*!
"typing replaces text" in office 97, but close enough. Danke!

When you pressed the "Delete" key, did you by any chance hit the "Insert" key as well? Cos that could cause what you've been explaining

No. this is not a "one in a while" thing. It is on 99.9% of everything I type over about one paragraph. (2-3 errors in each if I am hauling ass)
I can "reset" the thinking by exiting the application and restarting, but that gets annoying as well. Hell, it even did it in the first post I made above when I was putting the [b] tags around that section.
Hit the Instert, or INS key on your keyboard.
That will keep MS from doing it for a while, but it still comes back after 3 or 4 more screwups. I am hoping there is a perminant solution.
