Q: Okay, so I have a Netgear Wireless Router WGT624v2 (G) and I have established a network between my computer and my mom down the computer. We have just a few days ago and it worked fine until last night when I was fiddling trying to surf my speeds a bit more spicy. Now, if the network is already connected as it should, there is an Internet signal from the modem and a wireless signal (because the downstairs computer can access it), but nothing gets through. I can not browse or connect to AIM or something. In the Network Status window says that a bunch of packets have been sent, but not be received.
i m only able to connect to the Internet now directly through the modem to the computer on my network and creating a bridge in the Network Connections window. and to top it off, I can not access the router settings, unless I am connected to the router . and if I am connected to the router, I can not access the Internet. so Im really clueless about what is wrong. everything seems in good condition, but . it just does not work. anyone have answers?

Re:i fixed this problem myself. went to the DW6000 settings and did a "connectivity test" and it came out successful and now it works. hmph.

Re:i was using TCP Optimizer to tweak the browsing. I changed things in TCP Optimizer… what should the optimal settings be for a DW6000 in TCP Optimizer?

Re:a mere reset wouldnt fix it. Resets simply reboot, they dont effect or change any settings. Doing full resets depends on the router and while some may reset to factory settings, other routers REQUIRE a firmware upload right after.
I find it ironic you called the wireless networking stupid, since this is fully user error. ^^ How about telling use what menus exactly you playd with?
btw except for the wifi speed setting, theres nothing in a router that will make your connection any more snappier.

Re:I would reset the router. There should be a button you push on the back of it. I don't have the Netgear router, mine is a Linksys. A reset should take it back to factory default.
