Re:Did you install the HIGHPOINT RAID drivers?
You need to press F6 when screen "PRESS F6 – To install third-party SCSI and host controller drivers" appears.
Re:I have two SOYO P4I Fire Dragon's and they are causing all kinds of problems including the reboots. My Visiontek G4 4600 is not being used as much as it should and my CPU runs at 100% during games which last 1 minute before the system reboots. I've replaced the memory, G4 card, sound card…… that leaves the MOBO. I'm gonna RMA the boards, sell them, and try Intel or ABit.
Re:Did you find a solution to your problem?
I got a soyo MB just today and I'm getting the same error. My specs are completely different minus the mobo make.
Umm… I put the primary harddrive from another computer into the computer and the computer only seemed to crash during scandisk and the win2000 install. If I skipped scandisk fast enough, I'd get the Windows 98 loading screen and it'd load for what seems like forever. Otherwise, same problem as you.
Re:the multiplier on the cpu is likely locked at 13.5, and if you're running a 100mhz fsb, 100 x 13.5 = 1350 = 1500+
you could try moving the ram around to another slot, probably won't help, but you never know. i'd really suspect the board, if you already fried a cpu in it, that *cant* be good for its general health, so it's no wonder it's acting up
as for installing the board, theres usually some paperish red washers you can put between the board and the standoffs, or use plastic standoffs. should be fine. i've never had a problem with metal standoffs and no washers though.
