Suggest a good book Windows Server 2003 [good foundation] [windows 2003 server]

Q: Im pretty comfortable with Windows XP Pro – the ins and outs of it. So for fun, I installed Windows Server 2003 Standard on an extra course and now its on my LAN. I need a really good book that will help me learn how to manage a 2003 server. Something not too concerned, but still gives me a good basis for getting into more advanced things like perhaps setting up Active Directory, etc. I also really need to know the best way to safely / lock-down when my Server planning to do some port forwarding through my local router from the Internet. Mainly for IIS and FTP on the first .

Anyway, hit me with some of your best suggestions for which book (s) I would pick. Amazon.com links would be a nice touch to all:)

TIA.

Best Answer: There's a couple I have used and they are excellent if you want to learn Linux from the ground up.

UNIX Complete by Peter Dyson, Stan Kelly-Bootle, John Heilborn published by SYBEX

Unix in a Nutshell, Fourth Edition
by Arnold Robbins published by O'Reilly & Associates.

Re:Get the Mark Minasi book.
I use it as a reference.

Re:I have been using Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Unleashed By Samspublishing and it has been very helpful in moving from NT 4.0 to a 2003 server.

Re:Cool thanks for the suggestions. I use the Internet and howto files pretty extensively too, it's just I like to have a "bible" handy that I can refer to if I'm doing something specific and want to read more in depth on it.

Re:i actually find more of my information on windows 2003 from the internet rather than books, but that's only because i'm too lazy to read books.

Re:The MS Press books on 2003 are pretty good actually. Hit those for conceptual stuff. For getting an actual task done just hit the "Howto" KB articles and helpfiles.

There's Howto's for setting up active directory even. I would lean more towards books for some of the needed underlying concepts like DNS for instance.

Re:http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi…p;s=books&n=507846 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0735613540/qid=1096318000/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/103-8786967-5753466?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)

This is the book I have. It does a good job of covering the basics. Of course, I don't actually have windows 2k3 yet, I'm still waiting for the new servers to get here. But I have read through the book and it seems to be good.
