System clock is always one hour ahead [computer advances] [system clock]

Q: I WinXPSP2. My system is ALWAYS clock one hour ahead. If I then try to synchronize with time.windows.com, or restart the time.nist.gov back the clock one hour ahead when it comes back after a reboot. And if I manually try to adjust the time and then restart the the clock back one hour ahead when it comes back after a reboot. I even tried changing the clock one hour back at the right time and it is still one hours later after I reboot it.

Please help!

thanks

Best Answer: You should make sure that the clock is set to the correct timezone. It could be auto adjusting back to the time it thinks it should be in.

Another poaaible cause is the battery in the BIOS is dying on your motherboard. Sometimes you can replace these. If you open the case of your computer its usuallu in the center and looks like a small watch battery. Sometimes these just go bad and your clock starts getting off.

However, if its going back an hour each time it sounds like a timezone issue.

Re:just adjust the timezone one hr back :P

Re:The only clock management software on my computer is the Windows XP auto-sync feature.

Any help?

Re:Do you have any software on your computer that automatically checks and adjusts the time for you? Maybe that is set up wrong.

Re:Timezone is already set correctly and daylight savings time setting is already correct.

The clock is still an hour ahead.
