Is it possible to a normal Cat5 cable into Crossover? [100mbps network] [cat5 cable]

Q: I recently bought a 40m CAT 5 cable 100Mbps network only to find that it does not work with just two computer. (Doh!)

I can not return, is there a way I can switch the wires and make it a crossover, or anything else? Im not afraid to get nitty gritty.

I connected to a new eMachines 2700 + CCity box on a LAN using a D-Link switch * fast *. On this, I hang an old HP LaserJet 4 + a JetDirect EX external print server, and 2 other desktops and laptops. I heard that a few sites that sell inexpensive CAT5 cables. Since I am in the market I will find cables for 4-6 and the size does not matter. Im not looking for someone to sell on AT forums (although it would be easier), but Im just looking for a link.

Re:I was just at HD. They had blue and gray in the shorter lengths (100 ft or less) and they had only (light) gray in the 1000 ft spools of CAT5E. Good price though. $57 for 1000 ft.
