Help! Networks without a router and hub [cross over cable] [network connections]

Q: Hi,

So I installed a second network card in my desktop so I can now have a cross over cable is connected to an Internet connection sharing with my laptop. Everything is in place and properly installed, I got into network connections, select the network connection, properties, advanced and enabled ICS. At the moment it is telling me that I should 192.168.000.1 ip at that point I changed, so heres the problem. My computer is already on a network in my apartment but the one computer

Can I connect multiple computers without a hub / switch / etc? ie daisy chain it with 2 NICs in each PC [nic 39] [cross over cable]

Q: not talking about just two PCs with a crossover cable . I have a few, maybe 5-10.

I will not actually be doing this but Im just wondering . obviously a central management point as a hub would make it much easier. Not to mention the lower cost / headache of additional NICs and cabling.

But it is possible to place two NICs in each comp, give each NIC a static IP, and then daisy chain them.
It makes logical sense to me . but is it possible?

Seems though the

Maybe stupid question Fiber Optic, but I'm going to ask . [cross over cable] [thanks in advance]

Q: Can I be connected to two fiber optic network peer-to-peer and two Ethernet NICs can be when you use a crossover cable? If so, how quickly would the connection be?

The simplest LAN (2 NICs using crossover cable) with a very strange problem. [cross over cable] [crossover cable]

Q: The network is 2 PCs with two 10/100 NICs and a crossover cable. Everything works, I can share files and internet connection as usual. My problem is that the network often a time-out, I mean that the connection stops working and no data transfer between two PCs. It seems that this is only a few seconds, but it is enough to drop out of games.

So far I have tried following.

1. Several NICs.
2. Several PCI slots.
3. Different network speeds (100 and 10 / 2 and ful

Coupler for Cat5e. Will I have problems? [cross over cable] [speed problems]

Q: Ok, I have till Philly today to drive the network of my sister and her roommate computer. They want to go with a crossover cable, because it is cheaper than a hub (at least on each W u0026 M store). Problem is, staples only carries a 10ft crossover, they need atleast 30. I was planning on the coupling point of the cross-over with a regular patch cable. Would they notice that the speed problems, or worse?
