Q: I just tried to set up a small home network consisting of 2 computers (both running XP Pro). I have a DSL modem and a Linksys router. The problem is that I have a static IP to be assigned to one of the computers to enable them to connect to the network. Ive tried to make both the IP and the one or the other always gets limited or no connectivity. Once I have an IP to connect to either one of them. Heres the problem. One has the static IP can not connect to the Inernet. Not that big of deal, b

Q: ok I have very little knowledge of networks and I would like a cable with two computers to share. a computer running win2k and the other is running winxp. I have a Linksys router and a network card in each computer. How would I set this up? has a computer to host and the other a client? can I use my cable connection to the router or a host computer? Q: I am starting a home wireless network to build. I bought the Linksys WRT54G from Amazon and wants to start connecting my family desktops (four of them, a WinXP, WinME 3) network.
the to the question I have is whether I should discomfort “g” pci cards (WMP54G), or seen the actual speeds involved I just b PCI cards?
also I am better off for compatibility reasons Linksys cards to get the Linksys router match / access point?

Q: I have a Linksys BEFSR41, and all on the computer when downloading. Exe and. Zip files, they do not extract and it stated that they are damaged or not found. It must be a number of my configuration (connected to cable modem)

Q: Im behind a Linksys router. Im on a dynamic IP assigned by my cable ISP. What is the best way to get someone to large files (500MB) from my computer? I have looked at PeerFTP, but that requires anyone to buy a copy of their software ($ 20). DNS2Go looks cool, but they can cost $ 19.95/year.

Question: Hi, Im trying to
a nonprofit organization to help the cause of a network problem. They have an NT server running DHCP and WINS for the LAN (hosts + any server connected to a switch. Q: ok I have 3 computers connected to a Linksys router witch is connected to my modem. I want to begin configuring a Linux box to play. I would like a private FTP server from the Linux machine. Do I connect to my router or another NIC and if throwing a server conected to the WAN port on the router. What is the safest solution? I do not have to put in my router DMZ mode.

Q: I have an old Linksys BEFW11S4. Every time I run Azureus kills my internet connection completely. Azureus downloads everything well, but I can not see which sites. They just time out. Even the router setup page either a timeout or load very slowly. Eventually I bought another router when I got home and fixed the problem, but Im off in college now and I got stuck with the old Linksys.
I read somewhere that the router was not the amount of connections that Azureus is trying to make,

Q: I have a Linksys router. I am running an Apache Web server, but it only works on other computers on my network connected to the router. I have DMZ host is necessary for my computer. Thats me to send in mIRC (because I had trouble w / me while, til i turned DMZ). Now how do I do that so do other people surf the web or outside my network can connect to my server?
