Brand news yesterday . 8-port Linksys router connected to cable connector. RJ-45 in the walls and in the PCs. I have Win2000 SP2, and there is another one thats just Win98SE. Both have file / printer sharing and the “working group” group. As I understand it, we should be able to display the Network Neighborhood (or My Network Places in Win2k to see). Well, I can. ftp strange behavior behind the router [linksys router] [static ips]

I have a lab with a T1 connection and static IPS (I mention them MYIPs). I used one of the IPs and an internal network with the help of a cheesy Linksys router.

This first internal network uses IP addresses from 192.168.1.2 – 192.168.1.154. It win2k server (192.168.1.2), which acts as a DNS server. Another machine with IP 192.168.1.5 is IIS FTP server. I opened the gate 21 for the FTP server on the router. (Router has the latest firmware)
