I dunno what to do. I have a RH 7.3 running samba and it seems to be configured fine. The problem is that I can not actually see the server in Network Neighborhood on my Win2k machine, nor can I run: server. However, if I type ServerIP will let me login and browse the share fine. I searched google, Samba, AT, and made man smb.conf. I tried the domain master, local master, lm announce blah blah blah . I know what I was doing wrong. : O

Q: Im having problems connecting to a shared printer from an XP Pro computer to another. I have simple file sharing is enabled and may share files with no problem. Both computers can see each other in Network Neighborhood, there are no problems at all.

Q: I just upgraded to Win2000. My roommate is using Win98. Will we still be able to share files? I have my network settings all setup, but the only computer that I see in my workgroup is mine. He can only be seen in the computer network of the neighborhood. Currently, we are both supposed to be in the same workgroup. Should I change it? Or is there a site that can help? Thanks in advance.

Q: What the heck is going on. The title of my message is just about my problem. I have a home network with two computers and they are currently connected via a switch that connects to the cable modem. It is used to work fine, but now there is something wrong, I just can not seem to see the other computer via the network neighborhood. I can only find the computer and find the other one then. It is the same on both computers. Can anyone help me with this? What am I doing wrong?

Brand news yesterday . 8-port Linksys router connected to cable connector. RJ-45 in the walls and in the PCs. I have Win2000 SP2, and there is another one thats just Win98SE. Both have file / printer sharing and the “working group” group. As I understand it, we should be able to display the Network Neighborhood (or My Network Places in Win2k to see). Well, I can. The Win98 box has C: and a printer in order to share
