terminal services connection problem [well room] [keyboard mouse]

Q: im runing 2k server installed . the terminal service patch cuz im making this one file in the office . and also room for another keyboard, mouse and monitor is pointless and a bit difficult in the small room.

anyway I took the agp card and booted . I see the computer on the network via the Remote Assistance on XP, i cannot connect? Any ideas?

Best Answer: If the connection is modem->computer->router->laptop, it's not going to work. It has to be modem->router (WAN jack)->(LAN jack)computer. The laptop should be connected wirelessly or to another LAN jack.

If you're connecting from inside, that's all you need. If you're connecting from outside you'll have to go into the router and forward port 3389 to the computer's address (and it has to be a static address on any good router).
