or do on the server admins always have access to ur machine configuration files to change?

Re:I think both your autoexec and config files. Both are ".cfg" and located in your TFC folder. That way they shouldn't be able to even change your name.

Re:Higher ping? Not that I know of. In fact, I believe win2k is better configured for internet speeds, at least for broadband it is. Ooohh my download speeds are way faster in win2k than tweaked 98.
That crap is part of the reason why I quit playing CS and only play DoD sometimes. The CS comminity is horrible!

Well its rock solid once you get in a server. Your ping will be any where from 10-40 ms higher than normal and you'll lose any where from 2-10 fps.
Right now I can't get WON to f*****G! athenticate me and when I hit esc I get a black screen so i have to alt-tab out and use task manager to kill HL.
But other than that, its great. 
Re:I went back to CS after playing Day of Defeat exclusively since February. First server I went on was playing Assault, and I started bitch-slapping the CTs around (killed three on first round with deagle). So, some punk started an admin boot vote, and I was kicked out. Ah, the good ol' CS community.
I found another server that was much better, playing Dust2. Had some fun and am about to reinstall CS on my now-new Windows installation (10K SCSI, woohoo!).
Does anyone run CS on Win2K? I am getting sick of the instability of Win98 and was wondering how good Win2K would be.

This is why when I do play CS, its on Neo's. Haven't played in a while, due to my dialup situation here (neo's = bad ping for me). None of this admin abuse crap. And the crowd is always good
Of course, I prefer tribes2 to anything else

Re:Lol!, I remeber the first time an admin used Admin mod on me. I hajust totally decimated the Ts and was about to get the hostages when I haerda a slaping sound. Next thing I know my health is dropping and I'm bouncing all over the level. I almost s*it myself cause I though my computer was posesed.

Re:You have to make your config files read only. BTW it is a Federal crime for him to alter anything on your comp without your knowledge or consent that includs your controls. I'm an admin at a TFC sever(6 actually) called Come Get Some! and we usually just teleport people around and slay then when they get out of line. Not that you were out of line but some people just love to llama 8-(
