Why free? There are somethings ie. firewall and anti-virus protection, that are worth spending your hard earned bucks on. What's wrong with stimulating the economy?

I put the free AVG on a friends computer because he didn't want to spend any money and I thought it was going to be okay, but you never know …I wouldn't do it on mine …Norton 2003.
If you're going to pay, check out the 30-day trial version of NOD32 (http://www.nod32.com/download/trial.htm).

I've actually had AVG catch more things than Norton. It's also a hell of a more streamlined, less bloated, and not intrusive as Norton.

But that's just my experience. I'm a minimalist by nature and prefer less bloated AVG over the 500 pound gorilla that Norton is.
