Q: In the latest drivers from Microsoft IntelliMouse, they removed the ability to adjust mouse settings on a per-application basis, and thus the ability to bind a mouse button every keystroke you want. Me used this all the time in my web apps development, bind the thumb buttons to keystrokes, so I could easily switch views, or whatever. (Eg Dreamweaver . Ctrl + `= switch design / HTML view. Bind thumb button press Ctrl +` and youre done)
Now its gone. WHY? I must say, if I team on this project and someone suggested removing this feature . I would say NO WAY. Bottom line: there is never anything wrong with providing [Advanced] consumers ability to further customize their tools to work better for them and their very specific needs. Users not need, it can be ignored. Users who do have a use can use it. But now we can not . because this property was swept away. Removing features is a bad idea.
PS: Anyone know if Logitech MX310 mouse software lets you do this? If so, Im off.
Best Answer: if you want the job, move to india

Re:So why not roll back to the old drivers, and make sure not to update them? Or does this cause compatibility issues with newer software?
Re:Logitech software sucks. If you really want these different shortcuts, give StrokeIt (http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/) a try. It's a mouse gestures program that has options for app specific gestures.
