Q: So I grabbed this monitor at Sams .( I know, I know the first mistake, right?) And it worked fine in the store when I tested it. Now I got it home and about 20% of the time, I get literally a light blue color. It is a Samsung 1919 “CRT – 900DF. I have not found anything searching. Its like night and day. I voted it up using some programs, and I really love the looks of it for gaming / internet videos etc. But suddenly flicker and blue . Like, what should be white is light blue. What is red on the screen almost landscaping, etc. It is quite annoying, but Ive got a good deal on it, and it is only a bit of time. So Im planning on keeping her. But does anyone have any idea what this means. Refresh rate too high or maybe something else. Is it just too long, like a constant hours. I know that in the shop to get abused by children and the like, but Im not sure. I really have no idea . because it works fine most of the time. TIA.
Edit: I was not sure if this should go in tech forums or video. I thought I would this forum to make sure I am not trying something missing stupid.

Re:They paid both ways for me. I didn't ask, but that's what they offered. As for Sams, it seems to me that they should be responsible for replacing a defective unit, demo or not.

Re:A TV repair type guy should be able to. There are large capacitators, I think, in here so I don't recommend doing it yourself, shocking times.

Re:and looking for bent/tweaked pins
You know what? I decided to take another look (I though I remember seeing something strange the first day) and it almost looks like it is missing pins. That would do it eh?
Is that fixable. Can you install a new cable on these things?

Re:Other then double checking you monitor connections, cleaning them, and looking for bent/tweaked pins the only thing else would be to contact a local TV repair type and see what they think.
Good luck,

Re:Thanks for the response, Len.
Not to be argumentative, but I'm under the impression you are wrong on both counts
. Sams has told me that it is sold as a display model. That is that. It carries the same warranty as a brand new monitor – its just that you have to take it up with Samsung.
As for the 2nd part. I called Samsung. They will only pay shipping one way. I made a specific request already. Do you know something I don't?
Up again as I didn't see this response until today……..

Re:Sams still needs to feplace it as it is defective. If you prefer, you can call Samsung and they will send a prepaid pickup for it and ship you a new one.

Re:Well yeah, I *could* do that. However, it is a year old monitor that retailed for $ 175 – $ 200 I believe. And it was marked down to $ 130. So at that time, I got them to go down another 20% to $ 100. So I paid $ 100 out the door and then this stuff started happening. I called Samsung for the Warranty and it was no problem – its just that I have to pay shipping one way
So now I've got a black 19" CRT monitor for $ 50 bucks total……. (I know, I know, ya get what ya pay for). But I'm pretty happy. I just want to see if I can straighten this problem out. So back to the top…….

Re:No idea on what could be wrong. I would return it to Sams and get a new one, they should warrenty it IMHO. The price you paid for it doesn't mean it shouldn't work right.
