Q: Continuation of this thread: link (http:// ($ MySite) / messageview.cfm? Catid = 27 u0026amp; threadid = 527 820)
I have checked all connections on mobo, and they seem good. The PS is well connected, and the power button from the case under the law. I know the power button / PS were correct because it started the first time. Ive cleared the cmos (jumper moved back and forth) and also pulled the battery in and out. She still refuses to start. A refresher course on my rig:
EPoX 8k7a mobo
Enlight 300 watts case
gainward gf2
cd burner / DVD / IBM hard drive.
I m still inclined I would have messed something up when I started it the first time together with nothing connected except the fans. But if that is not the CAE, nobody knows anything to start this thing gets? When I do not mean to start when I hit power button, nothing happens. No fans, no drives no lights. Are well connected to the surge protection also.

Re:Howdy,
Could be. The question is:
Are ANY components receiving power? For example, are any lights on the MB or NIC or case turning on or are any fans spinning?
If not, then the power is not being received by the MB.
Alternately, you can plug a lone case fan in directly to the PS of course to see if it's live. If the fan starts spinning but the MB devices do not power up, then it's likely the power connector on the MB.
Good luck,

Re:Update, switched a different power supply in, and its same problem. The power supply does not start, the mobo doesn't start, no fans etc. I'm thinking that the motherboard has something wrong with it, anybody concur?

Re:When the power button is pressed, nothing happens. No fan turning on the PS, no activity from the motherboard. I kinda think I might have messed up the power supply initially. Bringing home a extra one to test that theory.

Re:Can you give a better description of exactly what happens?
When you press the power button, does your pc turn on and there is a blank screen or absolutely no power what so ever?

Re:AS long as you didn't run it with the cpu in and no fan, you shouldn't have fried the pc.
Make sure the power switch on the powersupply is on. Sometimes I've flipped it off and forgotten about it ![]()
