Q: I have a problem with a laptop. The shift to a negative color after using it to run for about one minute. It starts well, but the screen looks like a negative after a little bit. I think it maybe a heat problem, but rather than trying to fix the real way, I thought I might a small program to all windows flip the color of their respective negative values to be found, so I usable screen. Any thoughts?
edit: forgot to mention, I am actively Win2k

Re:sometimes when i have this problem on my laptop (dell inspiron 4000), i had to slap (hit) the screen a few times… eventually, it will get back to normal, but it's a pain to do, though…
fwiw, i usually either hit the screen side, or the cover side ….it usually works after a few slaps….
not the best way to fix, but oh well…. cheaper than having them to replace the screen (which you may end up having to do)
Re:yeah just tried that today. but powerstrip didn't work right with the video controller (Trident 9385, default win2k drivers). None of the color correction sliders had any affect on the screen.

Re:Get powerstrip and hit the "Invert gamma ramp" checkbox in color profiles
Re:Yeah it would be better. But as far as i can tell it's a hardware problem (the problem happens in the bios screen too). So drivers won't help none. And after poking around on the inside of the laptop, I can't see a problem anywhere. It's a AMS Tech Roaster 15 laptop. I got this thing from a friend, so i don't know when or how this problem started.

Re:Wouldn't it be better to fix the problem? That's not right behavior. What kind of laptop is it, have you updated drivers, etc.?
