Very techinical problem, give some help [cable modem] [reding]

Best Answer: It sounds like someone set up a redirect on your blog so that when your blog's URL is typed in it automatically switches to another location.

Contact your hosting company and tell them that no redirect should be done on your blog. Have them check for any 301 in your .htaccess file.

Re:HAVE YOU PLUGGED INTO THE MODEM DIRECT (i.e. no router, your PC gets the live IP address?)

Also, if my modem is set to be a dhcp and I only have one pc right now can I manually (myself) change it to a static ip on the modem and expect any changes

Yes you can.

I'm not sure about your problem though. Can you browse websites with that machine?

Yes I can browse web pages, download anything and email.

No sp2, No firewall enabled.. its only one modem, no other external devices..

Please give some detailed advice on what to try

Re:Bypass the router (unless it's a Modem/Router combo) to see if it's a connection issue, or a router issue. At this point, I doubt it's a machine issue…
