W2K . works well with games? [rainbow 6] [roms]

Q: I want to play games on my computer to do, plus other stuff, but I want something more stable than win9x . would you stick to win9x or go to win2k? I usually just play and . The hardware I have is supported by win2k so thats no problem. I was just like you would know what to do plz and thanks.

Re:And 60FPS isnt playable? :)

Re:for some reason counterstrike seems to be limited to 60fps on win2k. don't know why.

Re:I run Hidden and Dangerous on Win2k. The music doesn't play right but everything else is fine. Every game I've tried has worked fine, including games made 6 or 8 years ago.

Re:Some games really don't work (everithing that comes from EA), upgrading to NT5 i suffered another big loss, Hidden and Dangerous and i could even say Driver. But games like Unreal Tournament and International Rally Championship works perfectly with my G400MAX. There is another important thing that you have to keep in your mind THE PERIPHERALS! My Sidewinder Force Feedback works perfecty without installing any driver, but my Saiteck racing wheel doesn't work at all, not even configuring it as a microsoft wheel (they are more or less the same wheel, the mechanic is the same).

However i will never get back to win9x!!! and let's wait for whistler….

Re:It rocks. I gained 2FPS in Q3… its a tad slower in D3D but not much. However doesnt run right without doing a few things first….. go to www.ntcompatiable.com to see what games run. Also its the drivers that make games run slow in Win2K… if you have NVidia your all good tho.

Re:Win2k is awesome. Much more stable than any OS based on the 9x kernel.

Sure there are some older games that dont work, but it wasn't a big enough deal to me, so I put Win2k on my system. I never even think about using 9x anymore. If I see a game that doesnt work on my system, I just tell myself "fsck it, its probably not good anyway, and its not worth booting into 98se for"
