What about the proper drivers MB? [intel chipsets] [nforce 4]

Q: For Vista.

We keep hearing about? Hey guys do you know if I can get compatible ATI / NVIDIA drivers for my GPU? or? is my sound card compatible with Vista?, but what about the Mobo drivers? For example, if I Vista tomorrow (which will not happen, but this is out of curiosity, because I know I will sooner or later), my 6.86 drivers I currently use XP works well with Vista? And what about also? I mean, if Mobo drivers are still compatible with Vista, then what is the advantage with going from XP to it?

Im just curious, or maybe Im starting a false alarm because all drivers in this category (Mobo drivers) are already fully compatible with Vista. Or should I say that Vista is complete, all parts of capabilities and recognize your Mobo.

Re:There is SATA support as I have sata in my notebook (no RAID) and I'm running Vista right now, Didn't install chipset drivers either. All recognised fine. The only thing not picked up out of the box was the Ricoh Card reader, which I gad to install the driver for.

Re:I see.

Yeah I planned to get it but perhaps when the bugs are being worked out for "older" systems to work fully and properly on it.

Re:The Vista compatibility advisor program says the RAID driver for my mobo won't work. That most likely means no SATA support. Pretty much a deal breaker for me. Hence why they say if you really want Vista, buy a new PC.

Re:So in other words, even Mobo drivers, at least for nForce Mobos, are still in their Beta status for Vista ?

Well yeah I ran that utility from Microsoft, to verify for Vista capability, and it says my system is able to run Vista, but the Mobo drivers question was mostly for curiosity, at least right now. I think I will wait until at least Mobo drivers are "official" and "final" before installing Vista.

Re:Try the beta drivers on Nvidia.
Also go get the program that tests your system's hardware PRIOR to installing vista.

You should be good to go after following the above. Have fun, good luck.
