your best bet is to move to PCI-E, then get a better card. the price difference between PCI-E and AGP is large enough at this point that it'd be cheaper to get a new mobo, sell your card, and buy a new one.
Re:Best one is the 7800GS, I believe (though something better might be out by now), closely followed by the X850XTPE.
There's also an AGP version of the X1600PRO.
