Have never had this problem before, but when I cold boot (hit button) the system hangs. I hit reset, and everything is fine, boots up fast. If I return the system, everything is fine.
But cold start is to just hit reset.
I wondering, only 250 Watt power supply, remember that it is not enough power to get the boot first? By the time I hit the reset power supply is fully charged?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Re:UPDATE!!
upgraded to new enermax 350W powersupply, still same problem.
PS–I do like the new supply, would be great to put in a supertower with those long power leads!!
Any other thoughts??

Re:The initial start up requires power to spin the hard drives, start the cd drives, initial current into the other components, etc. The hard drives are probably your worse culprits. Try unplugging your hard drive and try booting. If it doesn't hang, consider it an initial power issue and replace hte power supply.

Re:Why does anyone think the power is fine though through reboots? the initial startup, thats what causes the problem.

Re:First of all, AMD chips that fast recommend 300w or higher. Even then, only certain 300w supplies are Athlon certified. It amazes me even more than you have SCSI devices (which require a good bit of power) on 250w of power with that fast CPU. Go get yourself a nice 300w power supply for $30 or so. Sparkle and Fortran are both great. This should solve your problem. If not, you know you needed to do it anyway.

Re:You could be on the right lines with the power supply only being 250Watts.You are running a lot of kit there and when you press that old power button there is quite a surge in demand in the first couple of seconds.I heard about a similar problem people where having with the gforce2 when it came out. I think you can delay the harddrives from booting for a few mili-seconds to allow other devices to grab the power they need first. not sure how you do this but I bet someone hear knows.
