What is an app that scans a LAN for shared folders? [winxp] [folders]

Q: Who knows a good one? , preferably freeware? Shareware will do, I think.

Download this free util. http://www.softperfect.com/download/netscan.exeJack,
Thanks for that link. I hadn't seen that tool. I like it. :)

So much for "Hidden" Shares, though…..They pop right up with that utility. Guess that's why "Security Through Obscurity" doesn't always work.

stop the server service ;)

It is one Exe file nothing to install. Put it on your hard drive and drag a link to a spot of you choice.

Run the proggie. In few seconds it will show you all the computers on the network, MAC addresses, pings, shares, and more (make sure to look at the Options Mneu, and check all the options thta you need).

If you have Software Firewall that all the computers are on the Trusted Zone.

if this is for enterprise, you can use GFI NSS, I find it to be pretty good.

It will scan for much more, such as installed programs and their versions, patch, and virtually any open ports.

or, if you want free, download sl.exe from foundstone and scan for tcp ports 139 and 445 on network x.x.x.x

Yah, GFI is an extreamly good tool.
Never tried sl.exe :P
