Q: I used to webroot spysweeper, but my subscription ran. I dont know weather or not to renew. There are better programs for free or not?

Re:There isn't really a "best" anti-spyware software however I can say that WebRoot's Spy Sweeper removes the most harmful pieces of spyware. It removes such things as the Vundro trojan, Aurora and some instances of Look2Me. I say use a bunch in conjunction with each other to get the best results. Also use FireFox if it's possible and do not surf bad websites i.e. porn sites, cracks, cheats, etc. Those are a haven for spyware.

Re:If you have a valid Windows CD key, you can use Microsoft's Antispyware (http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx). It's currently in beta, but it's been extremely stable for me and I have high regards for it.
Your other common programs are Adware and Spybot.
Re:Try microsoft's own anti-spyware….actually works pretty good, but the best solution is to have like 3 or 4 antispyware programs so they overlap in coverage to make sure you get everything out

i call it fedora core 4 and mac OS X.
