Q: ok . I played d2 for about a week ago when my account got “brute-force” . and now someone else has control of the . and a lot of people still find ways to cheat in multiplayer games these days still . Me try playing Unreal Tournament online . and someone was using an “aim-bot to snipe and do not miss anyone . now my question is . what online gaming is the safest and most probably will not get hacked or cheated? like what online games are still fun? . k thanks for your time.
Best Answer: it all depends on the type of game you prefer. first person shooters (FPS) like Counterstrike and Quake are good. then there's real-time-strategy (RTS) games. the one i love is Battle Realms(old school) but it's good. there's another old game Red Alert that's also ok. give 'em a try. see what you like.

Re:Hey fishing re RTCW cheater, I don't think that guy was cheating, sometimes I respawn and my gun is at a wierd angle, then I shoot and it goes back to normal position. When a new game starts and there is no set-up time before the match begins, he who has the fastest computer, spawns first. Thats why people will have a 30 or 45 second setup time before the match begins….he was prbobly just good. I did see a lieutenant who was calling in unlimited airstrikes, he must have done 50 in a minute on one of the missions. Thats the only cheat I've ever seen after 70+ hours of playing…I am getting kinda of tired of all the whiners however….
Re:I saw someone with a cheat on RTCW last night. I died and was watching a player waiting for re-spawn. He was running around with a Thompson and it was at a funny angle, kinda looked like his hand froze while reloading. I didn't think much of it until he turned on the scope. Even the crosshairs were different. I spawned back in before I could see anything else. I think that it was the guy running the server because I got switched to the opposite team at respawn too. His team was running around killing everybody and he must have had a speed cheat or something else because he would be in places way before you could get there if you weren't cheating. Oh and I forgot to mention that he would only give your team like 2 min. to set a bomb if it was a bomb map. Nice eh??

Re:Right now my favorate is the Firearms mod for half-life. There are only about 50 servers for it, but the game is very realistic (IMHO much more realistic that CS) and it's fun. You should check it out. Go to Firearms.com (http://www.firearmsmod.com) for more info. I'm sure you'll like it.
Re:I've played games like CS, and I don't really like it anymore because of all the hacks. Valve continues to come out with patches to try to stop these cheats, and a few hours later, someone already has a cheat. I really like Starcraft and AOE, though I don't play AOE that much anymore. The only hacks that I know of in Starcraft are map hacks that you can tell where everyone is. That won't really do much for a cheater if he or she sucks.
Re:I haven't seen anyone cheat in Tribes for ages. I would rate that as the game least cheaters are found in.
Tribes 2 is still cheat resistant as far as I can tell also. Tribes 1 and 2 are both fun. Which one you like better is just of personal preference.
My 3rd recommendation would be RTCW as well. Most of my friends have this game and find it extremely enjoyable. They haven't mentioned anything about cheaters as of yet. Although I don't have the game myself so I can't confirm that there are none.
Re:I must agree with guy, I hadn't played online since age of empires. I liked RTCW so much I though I'd try its MP, and I've been junkin out for three weeks now. I've played 6 to 7 hour sessions on that game. I'm not a Multiplayer, so I really can't compare it, but it has capture the flag maps, maps where you have to finish objectives, and you can choose from 4 different ranks. Medic, Engineer, soldier, lieutenant. Only drawback is the game is still $50.00.

It is a great FPS, but it requires teamwork and strategy to suceed.Re:If you like flying and science fiction FPS, try Tribes. I like the first one better. It's squad warfare. It's roughly like Counter-Strike with jetpacks. BUT (I like big BUTs) there are numerous mods for Tribes, and there are a lot of defensive strategies and equipment. You can totally dig in at your base with defensive force fields, walls, turrets, mines, sensors, etc.
Just talking about it make me want to go back and play it again. Some of my friends go crazy over StarCraft BroodWars, but I don't like real time strategy games.
