What is wrong with my Kingmax. [kingmax] [ddr333]

Re:I agree with what guy is saying. I have two sticks of 2700, and they are running at their rated speeds. Just because one stick is bad doesn't mean all sticks of that brand are bad. Even for overclocking, is supposed to be one of the better brands…

Re:No, you don't have to do anything to "appease" me. I understand you had a bad experience with your ram, and you are justified in not wanting to use again. My point was it's not really fair to say a whole company's line of memory sucks just because you have one bad one. I have a couple that do DDR400, but I don't claim it's the best memory either.

Also, some boards are picky about types of memory. Some boards will work great with one brand, and work awful with others. That doesn't necessarily mean the memory is bad. I had a Iwill KK266-R before that would have weird issues with any PC133 that had Mesel Vitelic modules. When you threw in some Crucial, it worked like a charm. That same memory on another board worked fine @ high speeds.

Peter, I know you have had good luck with , however it seems like "luck of the draw" to me. Out of all the user feedback I have come across, yours is a rare bird…err stick.

Suck is suck.

I would not choose over some good Samsung or Corsair, but that is actually irrelevant to this discussion. I personally don't think having one bad stick of memory qualifies as a solid basis to make a blanket statement like that.

well after its failure to run on this board… which was reviewed pretty well actually, i read more reviews of ddr400 ram which i searched for on google, which all claimed that the ram ALSO sucked. and also had quotes as to the lame excuses gave. apparently the highest one place got it to run was 190mhz, with 3.0 volts!

Ok, so let's use your logic here. I recently had a Asus board go bad on me. Just flat out died. If I follow your logic, I should post a thread like "Asus sucks!!! It's worse than ECS even!!!"…..right? I have had some good experience with , but that is not my point. My point is you decide from your experience with one stick of memory on one board that the entire line of memory sucks.. I think that shows very little reasoning on your part.

Did you try to RMA the memory for not running it's rated speed? It probably would have taken about the same time as it took you to post this thread. Oh wait…that would have made sense…nevermind…

:disgust:

as the multitude of reviews on the net, say .. many other sticks of this memory also suck. i think i even posted that earlier in the thread.

as i was borrowing the ram from my cousin to test, i dont have any other ram. So, RMA'ing this stick would leave me with no ram. and if it was straight up dead that could explain it. but its not dead. it just doesnt run anywhere near its rated speed.

i suppose to appease you insane 3d, i will go out and buy 15 sticks of just to rightfully be able to say that it sucks. because then i'll have personally tested it and not be relying on reviews and the like and my experience with only one stick, to say it sucks.

Re:Yea this is the problem with DDR memory.

I know OCZ/Geil memory requires rediculously high amounts of voltage to get to their rated speed (3.2V !).

So, let me get this straight. You used one stick of PC3200 on one board and it wouldn't run it's rated speed, so you, through your obviously extensive deduction skills, decided this one stick of was representative of all memory…

I can't possibly argue otherwise with such a well though out and reasoned deduction.

I have come across several "" horror stories this past year. I am sorry to see you fall victim to them. You could always sell it off in the FS/T forum and pick up a stick of Corsair Cas2 PC3200, Samsung DDR400, or some Geil PC3500. ;)

well my new p4 2.53 isn't gonna be o/cd so i'm just running the "pc3200" fine at ddr266 2.5 volts cl2.5

my 250 watt liteon power supply is only supplying 1.45 volts, and 1.39 at load, but its stable, and well i'm not buying a new powersupply just to o/c because well, this one is thermally controlled and quiet and i like it. so i guess i dont need more than this great samsung pc2100. did i mention just how great samsung ram is? everyone buy some its awesome.

Re:There was another thread some time ago and chipped in with my story ( labelled a DIMM as CAS2 PC133, it didn't work at for me at CAS2 133 and when I looked the datasheets for it showed that it was CAS3 PC133). Sorry to hear about your problems, guy. I've been there myself.
