Re:The chare of the battery is very important as it costs $100+ from Dell. If it's the original battery, most likely will be no good by now. Check the screen for dead pixels; a screen that has no dead pixels is worth a premium to me, many dead pixels decrease its value considerably.
Re:$500 – 600 given that you can get GHz laptops for $750 with a year warranty, this one could fail tomorrow.
Re:Why don't you also check out Dell's refurbed laptops? Maybe you can get a faster one for just a little more. With warranty and stuff.
Re:Well, the best way to find out is to check completed auctions on eBay.
Keep in mind:
1. The battery is old and may not hold charge very well
2. The screen may be pretty dim at this point
3. The videocard sucks
The question is, then, what is it worth to YOU?
Re:$500.00 is too low.
What is his asking price? What are similar laptops going for on eBay? Traders reputation? I wil;l pay a few more dollers to deal with an established trader then a new one.
Best bet is do more research and then make your offer.
Re:No more then $500, you can get a better Laptop from the DELL website for around $850 with mobile P4 1.9ghz.
