When is Call of Duty 3 “would be available for PC? [call of duty]

Re:NEVER :! The game was developed by big red or what ever that crappy console game was. The original developer didn't develop 3. 4 comes out soon and its exclusive PC game which will blow your mind …ect ;(

Re:From what I hear, this one wasn't developed by the original CoD team. They're still working on PC goodies.

Re:I'll never understand why people like CoD so much, it was horrible, both on visual terms and gameplay. Visually, it boasted no improvement over MOH:AA, and in a lot of cases, looked worse. As far as gameplay goes, I never was able to figure out how a grown man in the army, a soldier, couldn't hop of a porch that was maybe 3 feet off the ground and without taking fall damage.

Not to mention that if you create a game for PC you'll need to pay your employees again for one or more patches, and also develop modding tools, or modify existing ones to be compatible with the new incarnation of the series.

When you develop a game for consoles though you can try to polish it before release and sort out and fix a few bugs, or as many as possible, however once it's released you can finally, as a game developer/publisher sleep on both ears since you won't have much to do, UNLESS you "promised" some kind of content that'd be available through internet connection with the console, at another fee (just to make more money, since us, PC gamers don't have to pay to download a patch).

Not to mention you only need to get it working on one piece of hardware, compared to the millions of different combos of hardware on PC.

You have to realize that COD 3 wasn't even made by Infinity Ward…think of COD 3 as the console only game. Right now the "COD 3" for the PC is being made and is an entirely separate game. COD 3 just looks like more of the same anyways, I'm glad it's not on the PC. It probably would've been better if they didn't give it that name.

Infinity Ward for the win!

So it would cost the company more money to make a PC version than the amount of money they would make from selling them? I doubt it…

Lets assume they will make a profit. Then the question becomes if the resources required to make a PC version could be used in another way to make more of a profit on something else. I am guessing that they decided those resources could be used to generate more money on another project.

that sucks…

Because consoles provide more revenue than PC's.

Pretty much, if thats not the case then its because the income just pales in comparisons to what the conosles bring in. Even if they did bring it over, they probably wont revamp the whole game for pc. They'll just end up porting it, which is always a bad scenario.
