Q: I think my is dying and Im happy using it at the moment. I am furious back up everything I will / would miss if this thing goes belly (anytime!). Can you tell me what file or folder should I backup my favorites in to save. Im running Win2000 SP2. Thanks!

The following will allow your favorites to be saved as a signle file (.html).

Within IE, go to File->Import & Export, and just designate a location where you want your favorites to be exported to. It will have a default name of "bookmark.html".

Next time when you're reinstalling the OS, just go to File->Import & Export, and import the saved bookmarks.Cool tip. Thanks!

C:\WINDOWS\FAVORITES\

:) Yep, I got it. This is holding on long enough for me to scavenge stuff like that. Kind of like your house burning down slowly, I guess. Well, not as bad!! Thanks!

Depending on your OS…XP look under Docs and Settings, otherwise either use the search for Favorites on your OS or go to C:Windows
What do I look for? Is there a string I can search on such as favorite*? Poking around under Documents and Settings can be like a labyrinth in the dark. TIA. Um, just did that search and came up with it. Backed up now. Thanks…. Either my is dieing or my Win2k is sick. I thing the is about to die.
