Q: Hey guys, quick question, who do you think PSU is better? I can buy either for about the same price. Ive heard good things about the PC Power Cooling u0026 brand, but I also hear the OCZ PSUs are very nice. Hence my inability to make a decision. I just want a nice, stable power supply, which is pretty quiet. Which is more “stable”? Which is quieter? I would appreciate your opinion! Thanks! Cooling Silencer 410W Power

Re:Thanks for the input guys! I guess the PCP&C wins lol. Its just that, the OCZ Powerstream 420W has 30A on the +12V line, and the PCP&C 410W Silencer has 23A on the +12V. Don't know if that'll make much of a differnce, I'm running a:
- Athlon64 2800+
- 6600GT AGP
- 200GB WD IDE HDD
- LiteOn CDRW drive
- 2x 80mm panaflo L1A fans
I guess my specs aren't too "power-hungry", so either should be fine.
Edit: Also, the OCZ Powerstream 420W seems to be priced at $95, and the PC Power & Cooling 410W Silencer seems to be ~$75 new. I guess the OCZ is "overpriced"? I really don't care about the pretty lights and LEDs, and I won't be overclocking much, if at all. I just want something that's very reliable and relatively quiet. The $20 difference in price just had me thinking maybe the OCZ is better? Oh well, I'll probably go with the PCP&C. Thanks again!
Re:The pcp&c is much weaker on the 12v rail than the powerstream, but it's pcp&c…nothing beats it. That's also a good price for that psu.

I am guessing that youl must like flashing lights, aliens, and glow in the dark uv stuff over quality internal components and will sacrifice performance for asthetics. PC Power and Cooling has beaten NEO Power and Modstream in almost every benchmark they were put up against.

I second that. In All the stress tests PC Power and Cooling beats them in all catagories: Ripple, Efficiancy, Voltage Regulation, Temperature, Load Handeling, Input Voltage Drop, and Input Overvoltage. Also they will and do customize the internals, wiring, and can add extra features like a switched 120v outlet to turn on your water pump.
Enermax is weak.

The Silencer is based a Seasonic design but built by PCP&C.
OCZ is just an overpriced Topower.

Re:pcp&c is the king of all psu's. 20-32db isnt bad, 32 is still tolerable. ocz is good, but pcp&c still out performs them. seasonic makes the really quiet psu's. any of the 3 choices aren't bad at all.
