Q: Ok, so I have Win2k SP4 installed from scratch on a computer. Everything works fine until it starts detecting the hardware. The monitor flickered like normal, but this time when the “back” was set to Japanese language and parental control was locked. I can in the menu, and get to the lock / unlock screen, but none of the buttons do something. I am unable to unlock the monitor, and everything else is off. I tried searching for topics, but have not found a similar problem. Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks,
guy
Re:Bump!
Anyone have any ideas?
Re:Yeah, if I hold the reset button a little green "key icon" pops up in the lower left hand side of the monitor showing that the option has been locked. I also tried the right arrow button with the video source disconnected…and the four bars appeared.
The monitor itself is "fine". But I would like to rotate and stretch the screen a little bit. But because it's locked I can't.
Re:Did you try pressing RESET (2nd button on left-side) to put it
back to factory default settings?
Also, there is a Self-Diagnostic mode built-in to the monitor.
Turn the monitor off then on.
Press and hold for 2 seconds the right arrow button.
If you get a display of white, red, green, blue bars the monitor is fine.
If not, there is something internally wrong.
Re:It is a Sony 100GS 15" monitor. I know that it is such a whacked out occurrence that I'm completely lost on how to fix it!
Re:Whoa, now that is a new one  What model of Sony is it?
