Windows XP and no place to set up DMA [driver resources] [settings tab]

Q: I bought a new DVD / CD player and plays DVDs without any gap and the old DVD player worked fine. There is no place in XP that I can find to make sure DMA is enabled. Do not say that I went to device manager and check the IDE ATA / ATAPI controllers . because it isnt there, there is no Advanced , only General / Driver / Resources. Any clues? Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!

Re:The Intel Application Accelerator drivers automatically enable DMA and remove the Advanced Properties tab from the IDE/ATAPI Controllers.

If you want to fiddle around with the IDE settings, you need to use the Intel Storage Companion Applet, which is included with the drivers.

Re:i had the same issue after installing application accelerator. i lost any way to manually change dma settings in the drive controller or drive properties.

Re:Abit BG7
It seems like Iost the advanced tab after an XP Hotfix but I don't remember for sure.
I ain't a total newby and it ain't there. Any clues what to do?

It isn't there either.

When I run the Intel Application Excellerator from the programs list it says DMA is enabled. Since I can't play a DVD is the drive crap? (The old DVD drive worked fine)

If you have a Intel chipset motherboard and have installed the Intel Application Accelerator then your DMA settings have been moved.

Look at the properties for the hardrive or CD-ROM drive itself. The DMA settings will be there instead :D

Re:Well, you said not to tell you, but that is the answer. Device manager, expand and choose your ide channel, right click it and choose properties. You don't have an advanced tab in there? What motherboard are you using?
